Abstract
Most facility location problems assume the static demands
like the population and express the demands to a target network. In the case of
the electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities assuming the vehicles as the
demands, it is realistic to express the demands as the traffic flow to a target
network. The facility location problem dealing with these demands is proposed
as the flow-capturing
location-allocation model (FCLM)" by Hodgson et al.. However, since the EV
has the constraint that the driving distance is short, it is difficult to
straightforwardly apply the FCLM assuming the gasoline-powered vehicle as the
demands to the EV charging facility. In this paper, we propose a modifying
model of the FCLM which takes into the consideration of the constraint of the EV.
We also confirm the usefulness of modifying model by using the data of road
network of Bangkok, Thailand. From comparing between the FCLM and our model by
using several evaluation indices, we conclude that our modifying model can
efficiently locate facilities to a road network in the case of targeting
vehicle (EV) that has the short driving distance.
